Groundbreaking ceremony for Balder’s Bovieran housing concept in Svedala

At the old sports ground in Svedala, only a short walk from Storgatan, Bovieran will be ready in just under 18 months. The concept is targeted towards people who have turned 55 and is owned by Fastighets AB Balder. Apart from modern and comfortable apartments, residents will be able to enjoy a Mediterranean climate all year round thanks to the large glazed-in garden. Bovieran in Svedala will be the concept’s 28th project and construction is now starting.

On-site during the event were Solbritt and Ulf Andersson who were also the first to buy a tenant-owner apartment in the building. The couple fell in love with the concept many years ago.

“In 2015, we visited good friends who moved to Bovieran on Hönö in Gothenburg’s northern archipelago and we fell head over heels in love with the concept. We had never seen anything like it and we said that this is how you should live. When it became known a few years later that Svedala would get a Bovieran, we registered our interest straight away. For us this is pure paradise and we are really looking forward to moving in,” says Solbritt Andersson. 

A number of representatives from Svedala Municipality also participated in Wednesday’s event, including the Municipal Commissioner and Chairman of the Municipal Executive Board Linda Allansson Wester, who was a driving force behind the project from the municipality’s side.

“We have received many curious questions from our residents and I am convinced that this form of housing has an important place in the municipality’s housing stock. I am very happy that we are now underway with the construction of Svedala’s very own Bovieran and I am really looking forward to being able to visit the finished building,” says Linda Allansson Wester from Svedala Municipality.

Instead of the traditional groundbreaking ceremony, a palm was planted during the event, as a symbol of the collaboration that made the project possible.

“Bovieran is a very special concept that we at Balder are proud to be able to offer. As always, the collaboration with the municipality is important and we are grateful for the excellent dialogue we had which has led to us standing here today,” says Robert Pemaj, Regional Manager for Property Development at Balder.
