Balder and Uni3 by Geely welcome Volvo Cars to the innovation centre on Lindholmen

News  –
The new tenant will be occupying more than 7,000 square metres of office space in the new B46 building on the campus.

A joint venture was recently announced between Fastighets AB Balder and Geely Europe Innovation Centre AB involving a new building of 17,500 square metres on Uni3’s business campus. It has now been confirmed that Volvo Cars will be one of the biggest tenants.

Uni3 is a business campus, currently with five buildings that house more than 100 different companies conducting research and development in the areas of mobility and green technological development. The campus offers great opportunities for collaboration with the most prominent actors in their fields, and Volvo Cars will be both contributing and benefiting from leading-edge expertise.

“Of course, we’re delighted that Volvo Cars has chosen to locate part of its business here with us at Uni3. They are one of the most prominent and best-known brands in Sweden, and we consider this a hallmark of quality for the offering we have, to be a home for innovators,” says Gang Wei, CEO of the campus.

The office that Volvo Cars will be moving into is by the waterside and has access to good central communications, in an ultra-modern facility with environmental classification. The building has other tenants and access to the Uni3 campus’s services, including catering, conference facilities, a gym and hotel services. Volvo Cars will have access to their new premises in September 2024 and are expected to move in during spring 2025.

“We look forward to having access to such a central location, and to being based together with so many other innovative companies,” says Karl-Johan Ekman, Head of Workplace at Volvo Cars.

B46, a building of 12 floors with around 17,500 sq.m., is designed in accordance with the Miljöbyggnad Guld environmental standard, which covers the building’s material utilisation, indoor environment and energy use. The contractor is BRA Bygg and the plan is for the building to be ready for occupancy in summer 2024.
